The 5081 provides four channels of 12 bit digital to analog voltage output, with multiple single ended output ranges. Each channel is software selectable for 0 to +5V, 0 to +10V, +/-2.5V, +/-5V, +/-10V or -2.5 to 7.5V ranges. The outputs reset to 0.0 volts on power up.

The Linear Technologies LTC1588 DACs deliver 1LSB of INL and DNL over the industrial temperature range. The buffer amps source up to +/-10milli-amps of output current. Update rates are 100Khz per channel. A serial identification circuit prevents use with incorrect FPGA IP. In the example shown below the 4 DACs each output a different peak voltage full scale sine wave with amplitudes of +10V to -10V, +10V to 0V, +5V to -5V and +5V to 0V, showing the usefulness of independent gain settings. Other applications include generation of arbitrary logic levels, test, diagnostics and process control.
