Technobox Part Number 6778

PMC to PCI Express (PCI-e / PCIe) Adapter
with VITA 46 Differential I/O
(RoHS Compliant Lead-free)

Technobox P/N 6778 PMC to PCI Express (PCI-e / PCIe) Adapter -- Standard Differential I/O -- Lead Free -- RoHS Compliant

The Technobox 6778 is a PCI Express (PCIe/PCI-e) carrier that permits the insertion of a single PMC into a PCI-e slot (4X). The adapter orients the PMC in a reverse manner such that the rear I/O from PN4 appears at the 68-pin SCSI-style connector installed on the adapter’s bracket. Furthermore, the reverse orientation of the card permits direct access to the standard front I/O (if any) within the host chassis. The differential pairing between PN4 and J1 follows a VITA 46 scheme. A similar adapter -- P/N 6777 -- offers a conventional differential interface.

A distinctive feature of the adapter is a highly effective blower fan to augment cooling. An on-board fan controller can be used to adjust fan speed. A status monitor program provides temperature readings and a way to set fan parameters. Using a special cable (P/N 6351), any dumb terminal can be attached to the adapter via its on-board RS-232 serial port.
