Socket Savers are designed to fulfill a fundamental, but important job - wear out. They are designed to to be expendable, to absorb heavy cycles of insertions and extractions of mezzanine cards. For test and development environments they are a particularly useful means to preserve investment in far more valuable host and carrier boards.

In addition to their basic function, socket savers also can be used simply to raise a mezzanine to improve access or to aid alignment for cabling, etc. Connections are routed in a one-to-one direct correspondence.
